Greek Anarchists Claim Arson Attack on State Digital Center

ATHENS — In another attack on a state institution in Greece, self-styled anarchists said they carried out an arson attack against the General Secretariat for Public Administration Information Systems at Moschato, near Piraeus, on Oct. 10.

They issued a statement of responsibility on the far-left Athens Indymedia website, identifying their group Anarchist/s and said the attack showed solidarity with 14 people in detention. They said more attacks are coming, against unspecified targets and a video on the website showed a group if black-clad people hurling four to five petrol bombs inside the yard of the building, causing damage to the wall.

The facility in Moschato hosts gov.gr – the government website supporting the entire state mechanism for all agencies and is a critical fount of information and storage of personal data for citizens.
