DETROIT, MI – Greek-American brothers George and Alex Bourkoulas along with another set of brothers, Michael and Anthony Tomey, produce Detroit’s 8 Mile Vodka as well as the apparel company Born in Detroit. The award-winning vodka brand, an official sponsor of the Detroit Pistons, continues to add to its honors, winning a gold medal for taste at the 2024 Singapore World Spirits Competition, after having won the Masters medal in the Super Premium flight at the Vodka Masters 2023 in London.

At the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), 8 Mile Vodka was honored with two awards, Best in Class Vodka and Best of Class Overall Vodka, after winning a Double Gold Medal award for taste from the SFWSC earlier in the year. The vodka brand was also the 2022 MicroSpirits Liquor Association Triple Gold Winner.

In a previous interview with The National Herald, the Bourkoulas brothers noted that their parents are both from Kalamata.
