Greece’s Competitive Position in 2020 Significantly Increases

ATHENS — According to data from the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland, Greece's competitive position in 2020 showed a significant increase of nine (9) positions and this year is in 49th place among 63 economies, from the 58th which it held in 2019.

Greece has improved its position in the international competitiveness ranking, achieving significant improvements in individual indicators, namely:

-In the category of "Economic Efficiency" indicators, our country is in the fiftyth place (55th) for 2020, improving its ranking by five (5) positions since last year it was in 60th place, among the 63 economies of the ranking.

-In the category of "Government Efficiency" indicators, Greece is in 52nd place this year, showing an increase of eight (8) positions compared to the 60th position in which it was last year.

-In the category of indicators of "Business Efficiency", Greece's position was improved by seven (7) positions, compared to last year's ranking, occupying the 51st position in 2020, compared to the 58th position last year, and, finally,

-In the category of "Infrastructure" there is also an improvement of Greece's ranking by two positions.
