ALEXANDROUPOLIS -- "Greece respects the peaceful coexistence, good neighborly relations and international law, but at the same time does not accept unacceptable demands and threats from anyone," President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, said on Saturday during her visit to the Greek-Turkish border at Evros.

"Today I am close to all those who selflessly defend the territorial integrity of the country and guarantee its security. Greece, a European state based on the rule of law, respects peaceful coexistence, good neighborly relations and international law. At the same time, it does not accept and threats from anyone," Sakellaropoulou underlined.

"I hope and wish events such as those experienced in 2020 with the instrumentation of the suffering of persecuted people will not be repeated. And the best guarantee for that is the determination, the readiness and the high sense of responsibility of our Armed Forces and the Security Forces who have taken over the protection of our borders, which are at the same time the borders of Europe."
