ATHENS - Sources at the National Defense Ministry on Saturday said that the gradual withdrawal of Turkish ships away from waters near Greek-Turkish maritime borders indicates that there will be a de-escalation of tensions with Turkey.

However, the Navy's fleet remains on alert, monitoring the movements of Turkish ships, sources added, as the illegal Turkish NAVTEX is still in effect.
