ATHENS -- "We look forward to receiving Serb tourists in Greece this summer," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during his meeting on Thursday with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, who is visiting Greece to take part in the 6th Delphi Economic Forum.

"I am aware that we are a destination that the Serbs prefer and we can guarantee a pleasant and very safe stay in our country; and, of course, we recognise all the vaccines you have used in [Serbia] for entrance into our country," he said.

Mitsotakis also noted that Greece will accept visitors that have completed their vaccination or have a negative PCR or antigen test, without additional quarantine restrictions.

According to government sources, the Prime Minister of Serbia invited Mitsotakis to visit Belgrade and thanked the Greek premier for the fact that Greece has accepted the digital vaccination certificate for Serb visitors, as this move boosts Serbia's vaccination campaign.

"It means a lot to the people of Serbia; I can assure you that they also can't wait to come to Greece this summer and it is for us a substantial support for the vaccine rollout, because our citizens also want to get vaccinated because it will make it easier for them to visit Greece," said Brnabic, among others.

According to government sources, the two top officials discussed bilateral issues and the prospect of further expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economy, with emphasis on energy and interconnectivity, as well as support of Serbia's efforts to join the European Union. They also exchanged views on matters of regional collaboration.

Also participating in the meeting were Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for the economic diplomacy and openness Costas Fragogiannis and the head of Mitsotakis' diplomatic office, Ambassador Eleni Sourani.
