ATHENS -- "The Mitsotakis' government should change its strategy in terms of the management of the pandemic and of the economy," stated main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos on Tuesday, underlining that "every control, along with society's trust, have been lost".

In an interview with the radio stations Real FM 107.1 of Thessaloniki and Athens-based Alpha 98.9 FM, Iliopoulos referred to SYRIZA's proposal for the opening of restaurants, cafes and bars, exclusively in outdoor areas with all the health protocols in place, explaining that it would help as a way for society to 'relieve pressure'.

Iliopoulos said the ruling New Democracy party has never believed in a strong public health system and had not proceeded with the necessary requisitioning of private clinics, so that the public health system was constantly "on the brink of collapse".
