ATHENS -- Alternate Migration and Asylum Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos will visit Brussels on Monday, where he will meet with European officials.
According to a migration ministry announcement, the discussions will focus on the new European Migration and Asylum Pact, as the EU proposal will be presented at the end of September.
Koumoutsakos will also brief the European side on the situation in Moria after the fire that destroyed the facility and the works underway to temporarily house the people left without shelter, as well as the offers of international aid and the programme to relocate unaccompanied children to other European countries.
On Tuesday, Koumoutsakos will meet with the European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, the leader of the European People's Party group in the European Parliament Manfred Weber and the chairman of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, MEP Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar.
In the evening he will meet with Greek MEPs belonging to parties represented in the Greek parliament.
