ATHENS -- The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry strongly condemned a bomb attack at a non-Muslim cemetery event in Jeddah on Wednesday that injured a Greek security officer.
The attack occurred during a World War I memorial ceremony by Saudi Arabia that was attended by European diplomats.
In a statement, the ministry said the injured staff member was accompanying a Greek Consulate official to the event and was hospitalized but out of danger. It wished the man a speedy recovery and said that the consulate and the Greek Embassy in Riyadh are standing by in support.
In addition, the Greek Foreign Ministry expressed its warm thanks to Saudi authorities for their support and their investigation of the incident.
