ATHENS -- Germany on Thursday, April 1, handed over the presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) to Greece.

"I am honoured to hand over the baton to Greece today after a year of German presidency of the IHRA," the head of the German IHRA delegation, Ambassador Michaela Küchler, said.

In addition, she said that last year Germany gave an increased digital orientation to the IHRA's work and strengthened its role internationally in the memory of the Holocaust and the fight against anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsyism.

She wished Ambassador Christodoulos Lazaris and his team good luck in exercising the Greek presidency next year and stressed that she "looks forward to working closely with Greece as a member of the troika."
