Greek Govt Approves Wind Farm Project in Evia by Ellaktor and EDP Renewables

ATHENS -- The Interministerial Commission for Strategic Investments, in a teleconference meeting on Friday, approved an investment project "Wind farms Evia 407.4MW" by Ellaktor SA and EDP Renewables SA.

The project, with a budget of 489 million euros, is expected to create 182 new job positions and have a total annual energy production of 1,591GWh in central and south Evia. More specifically, Ellaktor and EDP Renewables will build 8 wind farms, four in north-central Evia and four in south Evia.

The project will attract international investors, support the development of the Greek economy and contribute in the sustainable growth of the country, contributing in the further penetration of RES, protecting the environment, supporting the energy transition of the country and helping towards Greece's full decoupling from lignite by 2028.
