Greece: Wildfire in Porto Germeno

ATHENS – A wildfire broke out on Tuesday in a forest near the coastal village of Porto Germeno in northwest Attica.

The fire is near the castle of Porto Germeno, while strong winds are blowing in the area.

Eleven fire engines operated by 46 fire fighters, assisted by three ground teams of fire fighters, four firefighting aircraft, and four helicopters, of which one is for coordinating fire-fighting efforts, are currently battling the blaze.
