Wildfire in Fyli, Attica, Is Now Partially Contained

ATHENS – A wildfire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in the municipality of Fyli, Attica, has now been partially contained, said the Fire Brigade late afternoon Thursday.

The fire had started at 13:39 near the Thrasyvoulos pitch, and was burning its way through a tract of forest, without threatening residential areas.

Still operating in the area is a force of 43 firefighters with 11 fire engines and 2 ground teams, assisted by local authority water tanker trucks.
