Greece: Unsettled Weather to Continue in South and East on Tuesday

ATHENS — Sunny weather in the west and unsettled weather in other parts of the country are forecast on Tuesday, with Crete to see the last of the rain by late afternoon. Winds northerly, 3-5 Beaufort in the west, easterly from 4-8 Beaufort in the east. Temperatures will rise slightly to between 6C and 12C in northern Greece, 5C to 18C in the west, 7C to 16C on the eastern mainland and from 11C to 19C on the islands in the Aegean and Crete.

Partially cloudy on earthquake-stricken Samos, with temperatures at 13-16C. Cloudy and wet in Attica, with temperatures from 10C to 15C. Mainly sunny in Thessaloniki, with temperatures between 8-12C.


ATHENS — Greece's coast guard on Monday prevented at least 590 migrants from illegally entering the country's waters in the eastern Aegean Sea from neighboring Turkey in assorted vessels, authorities said.
