Greece to Take Extra Measures for Enterprises Stricken by COVID-19; Cuts in Taxes and Contributions

ATHENS — Government spokesperson Stelios Petsas said on Tuesday that the government will take measures for the support of enterprises stricken by the coronavirus and revealed that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will announce a package of measures that will include tax and contribution reductions at his speech to the productive classes in Thessaloniki.

Speaking to Antenna TV he also referred to the measures imposed on catering businesses noting that the protection of the public health and of the human lives is a priority.

He said that the support measures for the businesses will be discussed on Tuesday a meeting with the participation of Finance Minister Christos Staikouras and Labour Minister Nikos Vroutsis and will be announced in the following days.

On the Greek-Turkish issues and on the possibility of EU sanctions on Turkey, he said that the specific discussion will be held at the EU Summit at the end of September

Finally, he said that even if Thessaloniki International Fair will not be held due to the pandemic, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announce from Thessaloniki a new package of measures that will include cuts in taxes and contributions.
