Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — There are another 269 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, with 39 of these tested at Greece's entry points, the National Public Health Organization said.
All cases since the pandemic reached Greece total 7,472, of whom 1,742 are related to travel abroad and 3,516 to an already registered case.
Twenty-five people are in ICUs, and 7 of them are women. Their median age is 67 years, and slighly over half have an underlying condition or are aged 70 and above. Another 137 have been discharged from ICUs since the first outbreak in Greece.
In addition, another 2 people died, bringing the fatalities to 232. Of these, 82 were women. The median age of all was 77 years and 95.3 pct had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old or older.
Of the 269 cases, 220 were infected in Greece. Of these, 25 are linked to identified clusters and 18 to recent travel within Greece.
Greatest concentrations are in the following regions: Attica (98), Thessaloniki (70), Cycladic Islands (10) and Imathia (6). The rest of the regions reported between 1 and 4 cases each.
