Greece: Man Arrested after Dousing His Wife with Petrol, Setting Her Alight

KOMOTINI – A 62-year-old man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder with intent on Friday, on the basis of the laws on domestic violence, after dousing his 55-year-old wife with petrol and setting her on fire. The woman was admitted to Komotini General Hospital.

According to information, the suspect tried to put out the fire and called an ambulance, which took the woman to hospital. The reasons that may have prompted the attack are not yet known.
