Digital vaccination certificate

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alternate Foreign Affairs Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis welcomed the European Union's decision late on Thursday to adopt a Covid-19 vaccination certificate, in a post on social media.

Commenting on the agreement of the European Parliament and the European Council to adopt the European Commission’s proposal for the certificate that will simplify travel among EU member states, Mitsotakis said, "Today's provisional agreement on the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate is an extremely positive development. Greece has been a strong advocate for it from the outset, as it will facilitate the freedom of movement within the EU and contribute to the efforts for economic recovery."

Varvitsiotis, also writing on Twitter, said, "We have a deal! The agreement on the Green Digital Certificate paves the way for safe travel within the EU this summer."
