Greece: Hospitality Enterprises’ Turnover Up 424.6% in May

ATHENS – Accumulated turnover by enterprises in the hospitality sector soared 424.6% in May this year compared with the same month in 2021, totaling 554,879,061 euros, from 105,780,741 euros last year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Tuesday.

Accumulated turnover by enterprises in the restaurant sector totaled 179,125,643 euros in May, up 64.6% compared with May 2021. Accumulated turnover for both sectors was 734,004,704 euros in May 2022, up 242% from May 2021. Among the country’s regions, Zakynthos (1,122.7%) recorded the biggest percentage increase while Evia the smallest increase (57%).
