Greece Had Primary Surplus of 7 Million Euros on Cash Basis in Jan-Nov 2022

ATHENS – In January-November 2022, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of 6.808 billion euros, compared to a deficit of 12.950 billion euros in the same period of 2021. The primary balance of the state budget showed a marginal surplus of 7 million euros, from a primary deficit of 8.8 billion euros in the same period of 2021.

During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to 49,831 million euros, compared to 42,059 million euros in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to 53,490 million euros, from 55,474 million euros in January-November 2021, the Bank of Greece announced on Friday in a press release on the central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis .
