ATHENS — Bilateral talks between Greece and Germany on collaboration in space and satellite communication were held for the first time on Wednesday, between the Secretary General for Telecommunications and Post of the digital governance ministry, Athanassios Staveris, and the coordinator of the German government for space and Bundestag member Thomas Jarzombek.
Greek-German cooperation continues in an important sector that focuses on the future: developing space activity for the purpose of promoting public interest and security purposes, the German Embassy in Greece said.
After the end of the meeting, the German Ambassador Ernst Reichel stated that "Greece and Germany can together give a substantial impetus to the current momentum for deepening European aerospace cooperation."
He also referred to the white paper on digital transformation that the Greek government released at the end of 2020, noting that it gives major importance to the industrial cooperation for the development of the aerospace sector as a catalyst for digital transformation.
Finally, Reichel expressed his satisfaction that German enterprises, which have branches in Greece, are already creating significant job positions and are willing to contribute as partners.
