Greece Expresses Condolences to Russia Over Fatal Air Crash

ATHENS — The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry said it was "profoundly saddened by the the tragic news of the Russian passenger plane crash in Russia's Kamchatka region" that killed 28 people, in a tweet on Tuesday.

The Antonov AN-26 plane was flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana, both on the Kamchatka peninsula, when it lost contact a few kilometers from its destination. Wreckage was found on a hillside near the coast, officials said, and there are no survivors.

Greece's Foreign Ministry also expressed its condolences to the victims' families and loved ones, and solidarity to the people and government of the Russian Federation.
