Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Athens on Thursday

ATHENS — A trilateral meeting attended by the foreign ministers of Greece, Cyprus and Lebanon will be held on Thursday at the foreign ministry in Athens.

The talks are expected to focus on strengthening trilateral cooperation at a political and economic level, including the management of the repercussions of the pandemic and Lebanon's collaboration with the European Union, as well as regional developments with emphasis on the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Syria, a Greek foreign ministry announcement said on Wednesday.

The three foreign ministers will initially have a meeting in private, followed by a broader discussion involving their respective delegations and joint statements to the press at about noon.

Additionally, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is expected to have bilateral meetings with his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides, and with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon, Charbel Wehbé.

NICOSIA - After decades of failure trying to reunify Cyprus, split by unlawful 1974 Turkish invasions, the United Nations Special Representative Colin William Stewart said it will stay that way, perhaps forever.
