Golden Dawn’s MEP Lagos to Be Extradited by Brussels

BRUSSELS — The Brussels prosecutor's office on Tuesday said that a Belgian court decision for the execution of a European arrest warrant against far-right MEP Yiannis Lagos is now final. The arrest warrant was issued by authorities in Greece, where Lagos has been sentenced to serve several years in prison for his role in the far-right party Golden Dawn, which was ruled a criminal organisation.

The announcement said that Lagos has not appealed against the ruling of the Flemish-speaking Brussels court on May 7, which called for the European arrest warrant to be executed.

The date for Lagos' handover to Greek authorities will not be announced.
