Gerapetritis: Greece Is Ready for Ankara’s Reaction

ATHENS — The government had weighed up Ankara's reactions before the signing of the Greek-Egyptian agreement, State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis said speaking to the public broadcaster ERT on Monday and in parallel reassured on the country's total political and operational readiness.

He said that Greece will not accept any provocation inside its maritime zones adding that there are international rules for research. He also said that the Greek government's feeling is that "Oruc Reis and the auxiliary vessels will make circumnavigation adding that "we will be there to watch and do whatever necessary".

On the flash floods in Evia, Gerapetritis he preannounced a package of measures for the stricken. The minister underlined that "Greece, first of all the European countries, has taken major environmental protection actions.

Finally, asked on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' visit to the flood-stricken areas, Gerapetritis said that Mitsotakis will visit the areas on Monday afternoon and there will be the announcement of measures for the support of the stricken, measures for the wider protection of the region".
