Gerapetritis: Greece Emerging from the Pandemic with Good Omens

ATHENS — Greece is turning the corner on the pandemic and emerging with very good omens, State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis said on Wednesday in an interview with Max FM, while referring to Greece's growth rates.

He also referred to the goal of attracting large investments, which will provide new, good-quality and well-paid jobs.

Regarding self tests, he left open the possibility that these might be sold in supermarkets. He also referred to the possible lifting of early curfews applied to restaurants and bars. Regarding the Unified Property Ownership Tax (ENFIA), he spoke of its rationalisation.

Gerapetritis also ruled out the possibility of early elections."We have a lot of work to do. We are currently in a time of transition, turning the corner on the pandemic and emerging with very good omens. Greece has the 4th best performance in the European Union in the growth rate for the first quarter of 2021, with 4.4 pct growth, when throughout Europe we have a decrease in economic activity (…) there is a very significant dynamic, a current, I hope developmental, which we should be able to consolidate and increase. There is no reason for elections", he underlined.
