Georgiadis: May Will Be the Month of a Return to Normalcy for Greeks

ATHENS — "I am optimistic that May will be the month of a return to normalcy," Development and Investment Minister Adonis Georgiadis said on Tuesday in an interview with Skai TV.

"The restaurants will open, perhaps earlier than tourism. After Easter, I believe that restaurants can open up if the pandemic progresses smoothly," he said. However, he made it clear that restaurants will open with outdoor tables only.

At the same time, he said that the platform for the subsidy in this sector will probably be ready by May 10.

Asked whether travelling from region to region will be allowed at Easter, he replied that the self-test process raises the chances of returning to normalcy.

ATHENS - The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed "its deep regret" over the Russian government's decision on Monday to expel eight staff members of the Greek embassy and the consulate in Moscow as personae non gratae.
