George Vomvolakis AHEPA’s Agganis Family-Galatis Most Outstanding HS Athlete

ANSONIA, CT – AHEPA selected George Vomvolakis of Greenwich (Connecticut) High School as the 2024 Agganis Family-Galatis Most Outstanding High School Athlete. George was an All State running back for state champion Greenwich High School and will play football as a scholarship athlete at Stonehill College in Massachusetts. George’s younger brother, Peter, was also an All State selectee as an offensive lineman and recently committed to play football at the Naval Academy, following his upcoming senior season at Greenwich High School.

The boys’ father, John Vomvolakis, also played college football, at Columbia University, after being mentored by former great Columbia quarterback Eugene Rossides, the late advocate for Cyprus unity and the founder of the American Hellenic Institute.
