Gennimata: State Intervention Essential for the Survival of Greek Tourism Sector in 2020

ATHENS – Opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata on Wednesday had a video conference with the president and the vice president of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Alexandros Vassilikos and Aris Soulounias, respectively, regarding the problems facing tourist businesses.

Gennimata said that the state’s intervention is essential for the survival of the Greek tourist industry in 2020, as well as for a competitive adjusment afterwards, in the new conditions created by the pandemic.

She said that her party has already submitted a comprehensive proposal to parliament on a national plan for the tourism sector’s exit from the crisis and pledged to raise the issue of supporting the tourism sector of the EU South with the Party of European Socialists.
