Gennimata: Mitsotakis Engaging in Dangerous Secret Diplomacy

September 10, 2020

ATHENS — Opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata on Thursday directed renewed criticism at Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accusing him of engaging in secret diplomacy without informing the parliamentary parties.

In her statement, Gennimata commented on the article that Mitsotakis sent to several foreign newspapers, saying: "We were informed by the prime minister's articles that there is a 'written agreement' with Turkey, from the trilateral meeting in Berlin. Mitsotakis concealed this from the parties and the Greek people., We demand that the text of the agreement be immediately given to the political parties. This confirms that he is engaging in dangerous secret diplomacy. He is handling the issues on his own, without anyone having given him a carte blanche. He is exclusively responsible for both the actions and the results."
