Gennimata Accuses Govt of Lack of Measures for the Support of Tourism

ATHENS — Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata late Tuesday criticised the government for lack of measures for the support of tourism, speaking to Star TV ahead of the general opening to tourism on Wednesday.

She said that the tourism sector has received a major blow because it is known that a large part of Greece's GDP depends on tourism. "That's why we αre asking from the government to take measures for the support of tourism," Gennimata said.

"VAT should be reduced to 6 pct to make the Greek tourism competitive," Gennimata proposed among others.

Finally, she said that the health protocols do not exist.

ATHENS – The New Democracy government said its major rival SYRIZA, which has a hard-core nucleus of anarchist and terrorist sympathizers, should take a stand over violent demonstrations trying to block construction of a new Metro subway station in the central neighborhood of Exarchia.
