Zach Galifianakis is enjoying some quality time with his family following the birth of his first child in September. The professional funnyman was spotted taking his newborn for a stroll with his younger sister Merritt Galifianakis Owings in Los Angeles.
The 44-year-old, who is apparently taking a break from acting, strode beside his sibling who pushed his infant in a pram for the leisurely afternoon jaunt. The Hangover star looked to be in a happy mood during the sun-filled outing.
Clearly preoccupied with his first child, Zach appears to be letting his beard grow to an exceptionally bushy length as his curly mane also looked in need of a trim.
Sporting a baggy black T-shirt and rusty denim trousers, the Between Two Ferns host hid his highly recognizable face behind a pair of wayfarer sunglasses.
Zach’s sister donned a light blue top and baggy jeans as she wore her blonde locks in a loose ponytail. Merritt lives with her own family in South Carolina, not far from where she and her famous brother grew up in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
The active mother-of-two was most surely paying a visit to Zach and the latest addition to the family. The actor and his wife Quinn Lundberg only revealed they were expecting when Quinn went into labor in early September, and have yet to confirm the gender of their first-born.
The couple, who are said to have wed in secret in August 2012, may not have officially revealed the child’s sex, but the star gave the clearest indication yet that they welcomed a daughter.
In October he was spotted pushing a pram in Los Angeles and judging by the pretty white-and-pink floral design on the blanket that covered the infant’s stroller, he is the proud parent of a little girl.
The child’s name is also unknown at this stage, while we also only know that he or she was born some time around Sept. 7, when Zach pulled out of the Toronto Film Festival to be by his wife’s side as her due date loomed.
“[Zach] missed the premiere because his wife is very pregnant and about to give birth and he did not want to take the chance of not being in LA if she went into labor,” his manager confirmed to E! News at the time.
The actor has clearly settled nicely into fatherhood and appears to have cleared his filming schedule as he spends time bonding with his precious little family.
The funnyman recently wrapped up comedy Birdman, alongside Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Edward Norton, which will premiere in 2014, and according to his IMDb profile, he doesn’t currently have any other projects in the works.
