From Spike Lee to Mozart: August Events at Lincoln Center Through the SNF-LC Agora Initiative

NEW YORK — Hear hits from the “Queen of Merengue,” see a first-time collaboration between five top New York dance companies, experience a performance of Dark Disabled Stories, watch Do the Right Thing, listen to Mozart’s first and last symphonies, and much more as part of the August offerings at Lincoln Center’s Restart Stages.

The program also includes Faces of the Hero, a visual arts exhibition held in parallel with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, and “We Are The Work,” a lineup of events curated by Lincoln Center’s first-ever poet-in-residence, Mahogany L. Brown. The GREEN, an imaginative transformation of Lincoln Center’s iconic plaza, will continue to welcome the public.

Restart Stages aims to transform Lincoln Center’s campus into a hub of arts access and civic engagement, with ten new outdoor venues hosting music and dance performances, film screenings, cultural events, a reading room, and public services like food bank distributions. It is made possible through the Stavros Niarchos Foundation-Lincoln Center (SNF-LC) Agora Initiative, a collaboration to reactivate and reimagine public space in a new era for which SNF provided support as part of its $100 million global COVID-19 relief initiative.
