Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
When Anastasio Dumas opened Lefkes Estiatorio in Athens in 2004 there was a cottonwood tree in the middle of the site, so he decided to build around it and built two more in Greece and another in New Jersey.
Now there’s one in Delray Beach, Florida that specializes in modern Greek food inspired by traditional classics to separate it from the usual fare and uses the same model, said The Palm Beach Post.
Managing partner and cousin Georgia Dumas said the location was picked after they were approached by investors who thought it would work in Florida because they frequented the New Jersey location and had second homes in the wealthy town of Boca Raton nearby.
“I spend a lot of time in South Florida, and I’ve seen Delray Beach emerge as a premier culinary destination over the years. I wanted Lefkes to be a part of this exciting and growing scene. We’re bringing the bold flavors and energy of Greece to downtown Delray Beach!” she said.
