ATHENS – In an article in the Naftemporiki newspaper appearing on Tuesday, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragogiannis highlighted the achievements of economic diplomacy, thanks to “the government’s choice to strengthen and create economic diplomacy in the foreign ministry…[with] a reform that strategically aims at openness, without leaving behind the country’s traditional multilateral international economic relations.”
“Greece now ‘means business’ in the international community,” he noted.
Focusing initially on a recent lengthy working visit to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, he underlined the climate of acceptance encountered by the Greek delegation in the more than 20 meetings held there. “Business executives from Google, Microsoft and Apple, as well as all investment financial institutions, have recognised us as reliable interlocutors who are aware that the country is an attractive investment destination,” he explained, pointing out that “this is a great asset for claiming new investments.”
“The upward trend of Foreign Direct Investments in the last three and a half years is the assurance of the work we have done so far in Economic Diplomacy,” the deputy foreign minister said.
