BRONX, NY – Following the Divine Liturgy and the community’s festive Breakfast with Santa on December 18, Fr. Vasilios Louros was honored for his second anniversary as presiding priest of Zoodohos Peghe Greek Orthodox Church in the Bronx, NY.

A slideshow highlighted his journey so far, including photos from his college years, when he graduated from Holy Cross School of Theology in 2009, his ordination to the Holy Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, formerly of America, followed by his ordination to the Holy Priesthood, his days at St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria to services and events at Zoodohos Peghe with his family and community members. Also included were photos of Fr. Louros receiving the Offikion of Economos from Archbishop Demetrios in 2017 and the Honor of the Cross of Saint Sophia of Constantinople from His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America on May 7, 2021.

Fr. Louros was presented with a special cake decorated with a model of the Zoodochos Peghe Church building in celebration of his two years of successful ministry so far.

A video presentation included comments from His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and prominent members of the Zoodochos Peghe community congratulating Fr. Louros on his anniversary and acknowledging his efforts, especially during the difficult times of the pandemic.

The community members present also congratulated him and looked forward to his continuing his work at Zoodochos Peghe for many more years. Everyone also shared their best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
