BOSTON – Fr. Alexander J. Orphanos was installed by Metropolitan Methodios of Boston as the new Presiding Priest at St. George parish in Lynn, MA. The parish welcomed Metropolitan Methodios, Fr. Alexander, as well as Presbytera Patricia and their son John Alexander along with several of their family members to celebrate the event. The church was filled with many parishioners to welcome their new priest, the fourth in the history of the parish.
Fr. Alex was tasked by His Eminence to continue the work his predecessors and to enhance it and to build its youth programs. He was strongly encouraged to reach out to the greater Lynn community, to Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike.
The parish came together with all the organizations to welcome Fr. Alex and his family with a beautiful reception following the Divine Liturgy, and he expressed his gratitude to His Eminence for assigning him to Saint George. He expressed his appreciation that the entire community was invited to welcome and support him as he assumes the responsibility of leading the historic parish of Saint George into the future. The Saint George community looks forward to a thriving new chapter for their church under the spiritual leadership of Father Alex.
