LEFKADA – Four people have been arrested and charged by police on the Ionian island of Lefkada, following allegations of rape, kidnapping and human-trafficking made against them by a 37-year-old foreign woman, authorities announced on Friday.

The two men, aged 36 and 38 years old, respectively, and two women were placed under arrest after the woman filed a complaint with the police, claiming that the 36-year-old, assisted by the second man, had held her against her will in a house in the Lefkada area and forced her to have sex with other men of the same nationality, in exchange for money.

During a search of the premises, police found and confiscated four mobile phones.

The four suspects have been charged and led before a Lefkada public prosecutor.
