FM Gerapetritis in NY on Tuesday; to Meet with UN Sec Gen Guterres

NEW YORK – The next stop of Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis’ visit to the USA will be the city of New York. On Monday, Gerapetritis will meet in New York with the Secretary-General of the UN, Antonio Guterres. On Tuesday, he will take part in the UN Security Council Meeting on “The impact of climate change and food security” under the agenda “Maintenance of international peace and security”.

In the context of promoting Greece’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the period 2025-2026, Gerapetritis will meet with the heads of the permanent representations of the member states of CARICOM. He will also attend a working dinner with the permanent representations of PACIFIC SIDS, during which he will present Greece’s candidacy priorities.
