September 3, 2020

ATHENS — Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt on Thursday to discuss cooperation and developments in eastern Mediterranean, especially the issue of Turkey's illegal actions.

"I met with US Ambassador Pyatt. Cooperation and recent developments in Eastern Mediterranean discussed, with focus on Turkey's illegal actions," the foreign ministry posted on Twitter.

On his part, the US Ambassador stated that he was grateful to see the Greek Foreign Minister before his trip to the US on Friday.

"We greatly appreciate Greece’s resolve to find diplomatic resolutions to East Med tensions. As Secretary Pompeo said yesterday, 'it is not useful to increase military tension in the region,'" Pyatt posted on Twitter.
