FM Dendias Attends Inauguration of Artworks by Albanian PM

ATHENS – Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias attended the inauguration of an exhibition of art works created by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, held at Zappeion Megaron on Monday evening.

In a statement to reporters upon his arrival, Dendias said that “it is a great pleasure that here in Zappeion Megaron, a building full of symbolism, we are opening the exhibition of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s works.” The exhibition ir organized by the Greek foreign affairs ministry.

Titled ‘Improvisations’, Rama’s art, which comprises mixed media works and sculptures, will be on show for the public from Tuesday through Friday, March 31.

But the Greek minister also commented on the announcements he and his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made earlier in the day in Brussels, on the sidelines of the International Donors’ Conference in support of the earthquake-stricken people in Türkiye & Syria.

They announced that Ankara will support Greece’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council 2025-2026, and Athens will support Türkiye’s candidacy for the General Secretariat of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

“I am fully aware of the difficulties in Greek-Turkish relations, but regardless of how you look at it, today is a very important day,” Dendias told journalists in his doorstep statement at Zappeion Megaron, adding that in order “to understand this, it suffices to think about where we were [in Greek-Turkish relations] a few weeks ago,” he pointed out.
