ATHENS — A fire that broke out on Sunday afternoon in the coastal Athens suburb of Voula is burning low-growing vegetation and does not pose an immediate risk to houses in the area, according to the fire brigade. The fire started in a location called Panorama.

A force of 20 fire fighters and 10 fire engines have been deployed to put out the flames, assisted by two fire-fighting airplanes and two helicopters. The fire-fighting effort is being made more difficult by strong winds blowing in the area.
