LESBOS, Greece – A fire fanned by strong winds blowing in the area on Monday broke out at the Moria Reception and Identification Centre (RIC) on the island of Lesbos, in the asylum-seekers’ camp.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and the RIC is being evacuated after the alarm was raised. The fire brigade’s task is considered especially difficult due to the many tents and other structures crowded together in the camp.
