Exhibition of Ceramic Urns Opens on Sunday at Ritsona Crematorium

October 14, 2022

ATHENS – A group exhibition of ceramic funerary urns will open at the Ritsona crematorium, northern Attica, on Sunday.

The exhibition marks the third anniversary since the opening of Greece’s first – and still the only one – cremation center in 2019.

Ceramic urns created by more than 20 Greek and foreign artists will be displayed at the exhibition, which is organized by the ‘Chimera’ Art & Craft gallery, based at Ermoupolis, at Syros island.

“It is our great pleasure and honor that in addition to being a place of farewell, Ritsona Crematorium contributes to making this place a place of culture, too,” said Antonis Alakiotis, president of the Hellenic Crematorium Society and the Ritsona Crematorium.

The exhibition will be inaugurated at 11:00 am on Sunday, and it will remain open to the public, free-of-charge, until Saturday, October 22.
