ATHENS — Eight residents and two staff members of a nursing home in the coastal suburb of Glyfada were identified as of Saturday, after having tested positive to the novel coronavirus.
The infections were identified following a National Public Health Organization (EODY) check on all nursing homes.
The first four infections were identified last Saturday (Oct. 10) and quarantined, while the rest were identified on Friday and transferred to Attica hospitals. Tests are still continuing at the facility.
Greece has been experiencing a resurgence of the virus, with the number of new daily cases, most in the Greek capital, often topping 400, and both deaths and the number of those in intensive care units rising.
