Elmer Patchwork Elephant, Children’s Show in Greek, Available Online

February 27, 2021

THESSALONIKI – Elmer Patchwork Elephant, a children’s/family show produced in Greece is available for streaming online worldwide. Inspired by David McKee’s children’s books, published by Andersen Press since 1989, the show is in Greek with original story, music, lyrics, scenography, puppets, and costumes.

Elmer Patchwork Elephant is for children ages 2-10 and features stories that explore themes such as being different, friendship, uniqueness, team work, kindness, and sacrifice for the greater good.

The show is a joyful adventure that teaches us to love our uniqueness, get to know the people around us and not judge a book by its cover; we all get scared some times, even the lion is frightened; having friends and companions makes our lives better; we should be open, and keep away from stereotypes; be compassionate and listen to our fellow humans’ needs; and all obstacles can be overcome with the help of our team.

The Story

In an elephant’s herd everyone is different. One elephant is tall, another shorter. One is big and another smaller. All of them are grey colored. Except for one, Elmer. Elmer is not grey colored, he is patchwork! He is Elmer the patchwork elephant, a funny elephant who enjoys playing with all his friends in the jungle, telling jokes and making everybody happy around him!

The elephants enjoy a beautiful morning in the jungle. Suddenly, a heavy rain starts! Elephants do not worry, on the contrary they like the rain. Hey, something weird is happening! One of the elephants loses his grey color… Why? Elmer the patchwork elephant used blueberries to paint himself and look alike the other elephants. He hid his colorful skin and tried to be one like the others…

The rain soon stops. The rainbow will appear on the sky. Ohhh! Something terrible is happening. The rainbow is not colorful… It is grey! The elephants are so worried about the rainbow colors. Elmer is so courageous and he proposes to start a journey through the jungle and reach the beginning of the rainbow. Elmer has so many colors, he will give back the rainbow his own colors!

The adventure begins!

On their way to the beginning of the rainbow, they will face a lot of obstacles, meet new friends, and work as a team, each one using their own unique abilities to reach the beginning of the rainbow and give back to it the lost colors!
