Eleven People Killed, 438 Injured in Traffic Accidents in Attica in February

ATHENS – Eleven people were killed and 438 were injured in 369 car accidents last month in Attica alone, data from traffic police showed on Thursday.

The main causes of the car accidents was driving without caution and attention, violation of traffic signs and violation of pedestrian traffic rules, while the non-use of protective helmets by motorcycle drivers and passengers increased in many cases the severity of their injuries.

At the same time, in February, Attica Traffic Police issued 17,620 traffic violations, of which 610 were a misdemeanor.
