Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — A light earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded at 05:30 on Wednesday in the area 11 km southwest of Nafpaktos and with focal depth 5 km, the National Observatory of Athens Geodynamics Institute said. The quake was felt in many areas in Achaia, Etoloakarnania, Corinth and Fokida.
A second tremor was recorded at 06:38 on Wednesday with epicentre close to the earlier 4.9 Richter quake.
The Geodynamics Institute of the National Observatory of Athens said that the quake measured 4.1 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was located 13 km east of Nafpaktos and its focal depth was roughly 8 km.
No injuries or damages have been reported so far.
