Dr. Macrene Alexiades Featured in Hamptons Magazine

July 22, 2020

NEW YORK – Dr. Macrene Alexiades was featured in a recent issue of Hamptons magazine highlighting the opening of her new chic clinic and store located at 382 Montauk Highway, Suite 2, in Wainscott, NY.

Dr. Macrene's new Hamptons office officially opened on July 1, bringing her services and line of Macrene Actives products to the East End of Long Island. Her original Manhattan office is located at 955 Park Avenue. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM.

More information is available via email: [email protected] and by phone: 212-570-2067.

“This pandemic has made me take an introspective look at my life,” Dr. Alexiades told Hamptons magazine, adding that “I love New York City, a cultural capital and intellectual stimulant. I am passionate for what I do, the people I see, and the challenge of reaching ever-higher achievement. At the same time, I need balance and have always cherished an escape to recharge – be it a return to my native Greek island over the summer or my farm in Rhinebeck. Perhaps the Hamptons with its azure sky and waters, aromatic air, lush landscape, and brilliant light – is the cross section of these two lifestyles. It is freeing not only to me as an artist and physician, but also to my patients who enjoy the healthy environment of the East End.”

Marcene Actives features “plant-derived, clean, vegan, silicone-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, sulfate-free and fragrance-free, all-in-one products,” according to its website.

Macrene Actives was founded by Dr. Macrene Alexiades, a Harvard-educated dermatologist. She earned her BA at Harvard, her MD at Harvard Medical School, and her PhD in Genetics at Harvard and was a Fulbright Scholar with a research award year in Europe. Dr. Macrene is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and has achieved the rare status of Double Board-Certification in Dermatology in the European Union as well as the United States.

Dr. Macrene is a Diplomat of both the American and European Boards of Dermatology and Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine. She founded and directs her dermatology, laser surgery, and research center in Manhattan and a lab-based skin care research company NY Derm LLC. She is an attending at Lenox Hill Hospital, Yale/New Haven Hospital, and Yale/West Haven VA Hospital.

Dr. Macrene has numerous publications and discoveries in the fields of basic science, dermatology, and laser surgery. Her practice and academic work are focused on topical dermatologic anti-cancer and anti-aging therapies, laser technology, and skin rejuvenation.
