Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
TORONTO, CA – In recognition of his contributions to the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, Dr. Georgios Z. Papadakis was awarded the International Best Abstract Award for Greece at the 2024 annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI). The conference, held in Toronto, showcased cutting-edge research and innovations in the medical imaging community, drawing top scientists and clinicians from around the globe.
“This recognition is not just a personal honor, but a testament to the collaborative efforts of my team and the support of the wider scientific community,” Dr. Papadakis remarked. “We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in nuclear medicine”.
Dr. Papadakis’s award-winning work delved into groundbreaking advancements in nuclear imaging techniques, presenting novel multi-modal radiopharmaceutical for the detection of the sentinel lymph node (SLND), which is a key component for the management of various tumors.
The research of Dr Papadakis and his team stands out for its potential to revolutionize SLND offering enhanced diagnostic performance with the capability of employing different diagnostic imaging modalities (Positron Emission Tomography & Single Photon Emission Tomography).
Dr Papadakis is the director of the Hybrid Molecular Imaging Unit (HMIU) at the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
